Co-presented with the Linoleum Contemporary Animation and Media Art Festival in Kyiv. New addition for TUFF 2024: This festival celebrates Ukrainian contemporary animation and media artists, and is presently running its 11th annual competition. The films are quirky, funny, and contemplative, shedding light on unique Ukrainian talent. A wonderful collection of short films that is certain to delight children and adults alike! In light of the upheaval that surrounded “Russians at War” being screened at tiff, we have decided to host a re-screening of La Palisiada, an award-winning Ukrainian film that was shown at this year’s Toronto Ukrainian Film Festival.
La Palisada is a very powerful, dark and beautifully made film that is headed to this year’s Oscars! It touches on the topic of propaganda and how it veils itself. We invite our guests to stay after the film for an open-panel discussion hosted by St.Volodymyr Institute.
